Hot hot hot... it is hot. Hope you are all finding ways to enjoy summer and keep your cool. As I write, I am preparing to meet with you all at the june meeting of Joy Fellowship. We are studying Ecclesiastes and last month were unable to plow through the entire chapter 5. Today, we will be finishing that chapter and absorbing all that God wants to share with us through the writings of King Solomon.
Fall promises to be  quite busy for my family and intertwined in that is the preparation for our retreat October 24-26. We already have quite a few ladies committed to the weekend. To save your spot, please send in your deposit soon. The retreat at Isle of Palms is always a refreshing weekend with the purpose of deepening our love for one another and also our love for Jesus. This year, we promise to bring out the artist in you.
It is hard to believe we are already through half of 2014. So much has happened at Calvary and we are excited about all the new ministries and the building improvements. It is wonderful to be part of such a great church family. Invite your friends, everyone needs a great place to worship and a loving church family.

May Tea Room

So excited to welcome so many new friends to Joy Fellowship, Charisma , Jeannie, and Jackie...so happy you are here. We have also been blessed to see some of our old friends coming back...Juli Garland...welcome home. Hope you are all signed up for the May 24th tearoom. We will be going to
"Time Well Spent" in Summerville at 11:00 for a wonderful lunch, dessert and tea.  There will be door prizes and an inspirational message.This is always a favorite of the Calvary Joy Ladies...don't miss out.  The cost is 20.00 which includes lunch, tea , dessert and tip. You can sign up on the bulletin board near the church office . Checks can be made out to Debra Roberts  and given to Dixie or you may bring cash before May 15th and give it to Dixie at church. Please do not give it to anyone else ( including husband, Jim) . We know how that goes right???
This is a great time to honor your mom and bring her along.

The Blog is being revived !!
It has been quite a while since the Calvary Joy Fellowship blog has been active but with all the upcoming events and so many new friends, I think it is time to try this again.
You can check in any time and find out what is coming up for the ladies of Calvary.
There will also be news here about Calvary families and events. Enjoy !

Time for Some Updates

It has been a while since I have updated our pages so here are a few details and some information as you plan your year of JOY !

We just had our February gathering... about 45 ladies came out to hear Helena Rutan. Helena has had some very trying times in her life and she shared with us her priciples of success as she walks with the Lord. Also how she keeps her joy in the midst of challenges. We had quite a few of our old members come out for the fellowship. It was heart warming to be all together again.

Our next regular meeting is March 31st 5-7. Our message will be " The Power of Love". I hope you can join us. Bring your own pretty tea cup and a goodie to share. We will provide the beverages... we also have teacups if you forget yours. Invite a friend. Look for someone who needs some new girlfriends and bring them along. You will be investing into their lives as you introduce them to new friends who will uplift them and support them.

Below you will find some dates for events for our 2013 gatherings. I hope you will mark your calendars and try to be a part of the ever growing JOY !

March meeting will be held on Palm Sunday which is March 24th... We normally meet on the 4th sunday but that will be Easter.
Our message that night is " The Power of Love".  Come join us and bring a friend.

April 28th    Spring Fling... wear you flip flops and pearls, we will have a spring theme for our decor and our message...

May     Watch your boxes and the bulletin for date and time of our annual event at Time Well Spent tea room in Summerville.

Come Out of Your Shell Retreat 2012

It is almost time for our retreat. It is hard to believe this year has flown by so quickly. This year our retreat will take place October26-28. It will be held at The Lutheran Retreat Center on Isle of Palms. We loved that facility last year and even though our beloved Herb has retired, I am in hopes that the new director will be just as wonderful.

Space is limited so get your deposit in to hold your spot. We will be looking at ways to enlarge our lives and open ourselves up to more of Jesus.
