Next Event is Christmas Gathering

I hope you all are having a wonderful fall ! It will go by quickly. We will not have regular meetings in November or December. Our November event was the retreat and in December, we will be gathering on the 18th at the home of Charlene Alford for our annual Christmas party. Bring a finger food to share and a gift for the Chinese auction. Please spend 10.00 on the gift and make sure it is something you would enjoy receiving. Some very unique gifts show up !!! Wrap the gift beautifully because there will be a prize for the most beautifully wrapped present ! This means you do have to put your name on the gift. Hope you enjoy your upcoming holidays and plan to join us in 2012 for a year full of JOY !

Retreat Report

On Friday November 4th, 33 ladies from Calvary joined together for a retreat at the Coastal Retreat Center on Isle of Palms. God met us there. What a glorious time we had worshiping and praising Him and learning more about our walk with Him. My only regret is that is was not longer and that some of you missed it. We have booked our 2012 retreat at the same place on the last weekend of October so get it on the calendar so you won't book over it.
The facility was awesome and the food was really delicious. Our beds were comfy and we all enjoyed making our attribute bracelets which you may have seen all of us wearing on Sunday.
Thank you to Kathy Nagle and Marlene Vatter and Terry Saunders and Bonnie Brunson for the hours of prayer and all the work they did to help me pull off a glorious weekend !!!

About the children...

Hopefully , all of you with children know that we all love children and have no ill intent when we say , no kids at this event. The women's ministry has a goal of allowing the ladies of the church to come together for a time of fellowship and it is a time when all moms need to spend that time with other women and not have the cares of their children for those few hours each month. If your child is 5yrs or older they may enjoy the youth groups that meet during the same time as JOY... Those 5- 6th grade can attend.."Kids for Christ" and those 6th - 12th grade can join our youth group. If your child is younger than 5 ...book a sitter, engage a dad or call me if it is a problem and we will see about a sitter when possible. For those who do not have children and those who do, leaving the children to play elsewhere makes for a real opportunity for everyone to pray together, socialize and get to know each other. Thank you for understanding.
